About The Inn on the River Hotel
The Inn on the River first opened its doors on March 28, 1991, as the Hampton Inn On The River. In January 2010, three successful Knoxville businessmen purchased the hotel in Pigeon Forge, and chose to break away from the franchise to operate as an independent hotel. These entrepreneurs developed, and still operate, many first-class restaurants, retail centers and marinas.
The Hampton Inn in Pigeon Forge is now The Inn on the River Hotel
Many names were discussed to give The Inn its own identity. First named the Riverside Inn, the Pigeon Forge hotel was themed to brand with the owner’s other businesses. After discovering Riverside Inn was a common name in the market, it was decided to rename the hotel in Pigeon Forge, and give it its own identity. In June 2010, after adding a new managing partner with many years of successful hotel and marketing experience, the former Hampton Inn Pigeon Forge became The Inn on the River and is one of the few Pigeon Forge hotels on the river.
