The Only Place for Mountain Biking in Gatlinburg
East Tennessee has one of the best terrains in the nation for mountain biking. The dirt is always “tacky”, so riders have maximum traction. This means that bike tires have a strong grip on the earth, allowing riders to go fast and make turns without losing control.
Despite these ideal conditions, mountain biking is not allowed in the Tennessee section of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Fortunately, CLIMB Works has awesome Gatlinburg mountain bike trails right across the street from the national park!
Trails Designed for Beginners and Experienced Riders
Whether you’ve never been mountain biking before, or you’re an expert rider, you’ll love CLIMB Works. Visitors are able to experience the trails at their own pace, so first-timers can take it slow, while experienced bikers can push themselves to the limit. The trails are self-guided, but CLIMB Works staff members are happy to accompany you upon request.
The CLIMB Works course has a number of unique features. Rather than dropping riders off at the top of the trail, CLIMB Works lets visitors bike up the mountain themselves. This uphill journey makes the ride down even sweeter. Along the course, bikers will find plenty of berms, logs, rollers, and bridges to make your experience even more exciting.
The highlight of the CLIMB Works trail is “The Curliest”: a spiraling wooden course in the middle of the forest. This roller coaster-like ride is like nothing you’ve ever seen before.
Mountain Bike Rentals and Repair
Don’t have your own mountain bike? Not a problem! CLIMB Works offers full-suspension Trek bikes for rent. Staff members are on hand to adjust the bicycles for each rider’s unique height and weight. However, if you do have your own mountain bike, you’re more than welcome to use it. The CLIMB Works staff will even repair a bike you bring to the course for below market costs.
Incredible Ziplining in Gatlinburg
In addition to stellar mountain biking, CLIMB Works also offers superb ziplining. The canopy tour is specially designed so your feet don’t touch the ground for 2 and ½ hours straight!
The CLIMB Works course features 9 ziplines, 14 different adventures, and 3 canopy sky bridges. During your journey, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park as you soar over trees, streams, and ravines.
Two of CLIMB Works’ experienced guides will be with you throughout every step of your zipline experience. The canopy tour at CLIMB Works is ideal for first-timers, because the ziplines do not require hand braking. The course has a special braking system built into it, so zipliners don’t have to worry about controlling their speed; they can simply sit back and enjoy the ride.
