The Start of Inn on the River

Did you know The Inn on the River is not the original name of the hotel founded in 1991? It was first called the Hampton Inn on The River until 2010. Once purchased, the new owners decided to make it an independent hotel. Over the years, the hotel became known as a top place to stay in the Pigeon Forge area. One thing that makes our hotel unique is its location on the Little Pigeon River. There are not many hotels in the area that offer this unique amenity. 

History of Naming the Inn on the River

Have you ever wondered how The Inn on the River got its name? There were a few name options up in the air before the current name was decided. One idea was naming the hotel Riverside Inn. After reflection, this name was decided against because riverside is a common name for other places in the area. The name we decided on for our hotel perfectly fits the setting of our 3-acre hotel on the Little Pigeon River. When you stay with us, enjoy sitting next to the mountain stream and watching wildlife on the banks of the river. 

Renovations and Improvements 

The Inn on the River has been through many renovations and improvements over the years! Some of the hotel improvements include a new lobby, a new pool deck, improvements to the indoor pool, and room renovations. On top of renovations for guest satisfaction, there are so many amenities at the hotel for guests to enjoy! Our hotel is also one of the few hotels in the area with an indoor pool!
