World’s First CoasterKart Ride Coming to Rowdy Bear Pigeon Forge

Rowdy Bear Pigeon Forge is installing an exciting new ride called the CoasterKart, which will be the first attraction of its kind in the world! This unique attraction puts you in control as you set the pace down the mountain by pushing your foot down on the accelerator pedal! Here is everything you need to know about experiencing the newest thrill ride coming to the Smoky Mountains this fall:

1. CoasterKart Background

The CoasterKart at Rowdy Bear Pigeon Forge is an innovative new attraction from Wiegand, a German company who has become well known for their alpine mountain coasters. In fact, several of Wiegand’s mountain coasters currently operate in the Smokies, including the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster, Coaster at Goats on the Roof, and the Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster. As with the mountain coasters, the CoasterKart puts the riders in control of their speed down the mountain!

2. The Ride Experience

There are several elements that make the CoasterKart a completely unique experience! Unlike the mountain coaster, the CoasterKart is an entirely powered ride system with electrical bars installed into the track to power the motor on the karts. Two of the other key differences are that the 2 passenger vehicles feature side-by-side seating on a wider track than a mountain coaster, and the speed of the kart is controlled by a foot pedal rather than a hand brake. In addition, the ride will gain speed boosts from magnetic linear induction motors!
