Let the Games Begin; Wear Farm City Park in Pigeon Forge Now Open

Baseball pitching moundCalling all Smoky Mountain baseball fans, Wear Farm City Park in Pigeon Forge is now open! Meant to replace City Park as the main park in Pigeon Forge, Wear Farm City Park offers sports fans of all ages a place to have fun and relax.

Going extra innings won’t be a problem at Wear Farm City Park. This 118 acre Pigeon Forge park offers Smoky Mountain baseball and softball fans five lighted fields to play on. Not only that, the dugouts are fenced in and paved. Each field has a dirt infield and grass outfield. And, each field has a baseball bat caddy and baseball glove tree for easy storage during the games.

The four baseball fields located in the Baseball Complex also have small bleachers for fans to cheer on their Smoky Mountain baseball team behind each dugout. They also have a warm-up area, batting cage, nearby restrooms, concession stand and a vending machine.

Smoky Mountain baseball is not the only sport this new park supports. Wear Farm City Park in Pigeon Forge also provides a basketball court, a lighted football field, a multi-purpose field, two playgrounds and a 1.3 mile long walking trail. The walking trail begins at Pavilion Two, and runs around the football field and baseball complex before circling back to the pavilion.

Wear Farm City Park in Pigeon Forge also has two covered pavilions. Each pavilion has 14 full-size picnic tables, two of which are handicap accessible and a large charcoal grill. The pavilions also come equipped with lights and electrical outlets for convenience.

The pavilions are also available for reservation for birthday parties, Smoky Mountain weddings, family reunions or sports team banquets. To schedule your reservation call Pigeon Forge Parks and Recreation staff at 865-429-7373.

Construction began on the park in early 2013, and was developed in two stages. To check out Wear Farm City Park for yourself, visit it at 623 Wears Valley Road, Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
