Top 3 Places to Go Snow Tubing in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg

One of the most exciting winter activities is snow tubing. Visitors of all ages love the thrill of gliding down a snowy hill on an inflatable tube at top speed. This is an activity that the whole family can participate in during your vacation. There are several attractions in the area that offer snow tubing. Keep reading to find out the best places to go snow tubing in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg this winter.

1. Pigeon Forge Snow

One of the most unique places to go snow tubing in Pigeon Forge is Pigeon Forge Snow. This attraction offers year-round snow tubing in any weather condition. That’s because they have an incredible indoor snow tubing facility that houses their entire tubing hill. This facility is climate-controlled, so the temperature is always between 60 and 70 degrees. That means you can escape the cold of winter while still enjoying the fun of this snowy activity. You won’t need to worry about the snow melting away on a sunny day, either. Pigeon Forge Snow makes their own real snow that won’t melt because of special technology built under the lanes. There is also a SnowPlay area where kids and kids-at-heart can play around in real snow!

2. Rowdy Bear’s Smoky Mountain Snowpark

In the summer, tubing is snow-free. In the winter, Rowdy Bear’s Smoky Mountain Snowpark uses equipment to make and groom snow for an awesome winter snow tubing experience. You don’t need any special skills or equipment for snow tubing here. All you have to do is grab a tube and ride the magic carpet conveyors to the top of the hill before climbing aboard and racing downhill. The snow tubing hill is 500 feet long with multiple lanes, allowing you to race your friends and family members. The hill has a 70-foot drop, which lets you reach speeds over 35 miles per hour for a truly thrilling experience!

3. Ober Mountain

Ober Mountain is an attraction in nearby Gatlinburg that is known for its thrilling winter sports. One of those sports is snow tubing. During the winter season, Ober Mountain offers an exciting snow tubing experience. You’ll ride the “Magic Carpet” outdoor escalator to the top of the hill, so no climbing is necessary. Then get on the tube and race down the 350-foot long tubing hill. You’ll drop a total of 50 feet on your way down. With multiple side-by-side lanes, you can race your loved ones to see who’s the fastest. Snow tubing sessions are 90 minutes long, and you’re welcome to ride as many times as you’d like during your session. This gives you plenty of time to fully enjoy this fun winter activity!
