The town of Pigeon Forge hosts many great events over the course of the year, and one of the most enjoyable is the Dolly Parade that will be held this year on May 11. Pigeon Forge is located in the middle of the beautiful Smoky Mountains, and is home to the theme park, Dollywood. Dollywood is a celebration of all things Dolly Parton and country music.

Dolly Parton Parade
One of the best times for visitors to come to Pigeon Forge to enjoy Splash World and Dollywood is during the annual Dolly Parade. The Dolly Parade is the homecoming celebration to celebrate the return of local daughter Dolly Parton. She is the grand marshal of the Dolly Parade, riding on the grandest float in the parade. This is a wonderful opportunity for Dolly Parton fans to see her up close.
The parade brings in spectators from around the world. More than 50,000 fans will line the streets of Pigeon Forge for the Dolly Parade. The parade kicks off the annual Pigeon Forge Springfest. This delightful celebration features delicious BBQ, a 5k fun run and race walk, a spring pilgrimage for wildflowers and lots of fantastic country and bluegrass music.
This is a unique kind of parade. Unlike most parades that begin in the morning, the Dolly Parade has been starting at 6:00 pm for more than 25 years. This lets the guests enjoy the marvelous activities that kick off the first night of Springfest in Pigeon Forge. Great music, delicious food, lots of fun and laughs are always had by all that attend this great night of magic.
Smoky Mountains National Park
In addition to enjoying the Dolly Parade, Springfest, Dollywood and Splash World, visitors to Pigeon Forge can delight in many other activities in the area. The nearby Great Smoky National Park is the biggest attraction.
This is one of the most beautiful national parks in the world. It is technically a rain forest, and it is the park with the most biodiversity of any in the US National Park System. Hiking in Great Smoky Mountain National Park is a magical experience, and that is one of reasons that it is the most visited national park in the US.
